Biography

PhD in Law (National Law Academy named after Ya. Mudryi), associate professor. From 2002 to 2016, he worked at LLC «Law Firm «Modern Legal Analytical Systems» as director concurrently. Since 2016 — managing partner of AO «Sheverdin and Partners».

In the last 10 years, he participated in approximately 350 cases (30–35 per year), both as the sole lawyer and as one of several. He attended 5–6 court sessions per month. 50% of cases in his practice are civil.

Competition for the Supreme Court-2017

He already participated in the competition for the Cassation Civil Court of the Supreme Court. He was eliminated based on the final ranking with 76th place (the first 30 passed). Results of anonymous written testing — 75.75 points. Results of the practical task — 53 points. Total exam result — 128.75 points. Total score based on qualification assessment — 634.75.

Assistant to a deputy

According to «Chesno. Filter the Court», Maksym Sheverdin was an assistant to a people's deputy of the IV convocation from Viktor Yushchenko's Bloc «Our Ukraine» Vasyl Bartkiv.

Family ties

Wife Sheverdina Inna Mykolaivna works together with her husband as a lawyer at AO «Sheverdin and Partners». The candidate's father is deputy director of PE «Laguna Trading House BMK», mother is an associate professor at the National Law Academy named after Ya. Mudryi.

Declaration

In 2017, at the National Law Academy named after Ya. Mudryi, he received a salary of 239,543 UAH, and at AO «Sheverdin and Partners» concurrently — 7,448 UAH. He declared a repayable interest-free financial assistance from AO «Sheverdin and Partners» of 610,225 UAH. His wife declared such assistance of 7,350 UAH.

He has the right to use an apartment of 81.1 sq.m in Kharkiv, owns a land plot of 1500 sq.m in Malynivka, and his wife owns an apartment of 63.9 sq.m in Kharkiv. The family declared the right to use two cars: Toyota Land Cruiser 150 2014 model year and Toyota RAV4 2016 model year (value — 705 thousand UAH).

Scientific activity

Since 2006, he has been engaged in research work. He has a number of monographs, articles, textbooks, and lecture courses. In particular, the textbook «History of the State and Law of Ukraine» co-authored, monograph «Tax Legislation in the Ukrainian SSR during the New Economic Policy period», etc.

Legislative work

He participated in the discussion of the Criminal Procedure Code draft in 2012, in the development and discussion of the new edition of the Law «On Advocacy and Advocacy Activity» in 2015–2016, discussion of draft laws «On Enforcement Proceedings», «On Bodies and Persons Who Enforce Court Decisions and Decisions of Other Persons by Compulsory Means» (2015), development of the draft Concept for Improving Higher Legal Education in Ukraine (2016).
