The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has warned citizens planning to cross the border by bus through the Shehyni – Medyka checkpoint about possible traffic complications.

According to the SBGS, starting tomorrow, June 15, repair work will begin on the lanes used for bus processing at the Polish Medyka checkpoint (entry to Poland, exit from Ukraine).

According to the Polish side, bus traffic will not be completely stopped, but the processing and passage of vehicles may experience delays. It is expected that the throughput capacity will be approximately up to 8 buses within 12 hours.

Due to the repair work, an overall reduction in the bus traffic capacity at this crossing is forecasted.

The Shehyni – Medyka checkpoint remains one of the busiest on the Ukrainian-Polish border and serves a significant flow of international passenger transportation daily by both buses and passenger cars.

The SBGS recommends taking this information into account when planning trips and, if possible, choosing alternative border crossing points.
