16 Russians and 31 Companies: Ukraine Introduced New Sanctions in Synchronization with the European Union
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed two decrees implementing the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine regarding the synchronization of sanctions with the decisions of the European Union.
The synchronization of EU sanctions within the 20th package covers 120 individuals and organizations and introduces economic sanctions aimed at key sectors of the Russian economy.
Some of them are already under Ukrainian sanctions. Today's decision concerns an additional 16 Russian citizens and 31 companies from Russia, Belarus, UAE, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
Among the individuals are heads of Russian strategic enterprises, budget institutions, units of the Russian army, and entities serving Russia in our temporarily occupied territories.
The list also includes enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex, producers of electronic warfare equipment, software, and drone components, companies involved in oil, gas, and gold extraction. In particular, restrictions have been applied to the Russian aerospace product and drone component manufacturer LLC "Atlant Aero," as well as to the Russian communication systems and UAV and missile components manufacturer LLC "Irz-Zvyazok."
Sanctions have been imposed on companies from the UAE that sell machine tools and laboratory equipment, chemical products, and spare parts for commercial aircraft, as well as on an oil exporter in Belarus.
Ukraine also applied restrictive measures against three Russians: prosecutor Lyudmyla Balandina, involved in systemic repression and human rights violations against individuals supporting Ukraine or criticizing the Russian authorities; judge Dmytro Hordeyev, also involved in repression, who issued politically motivated decisions against opposition members and human rights defenders; and Russian editor and propagandist Maria Sittel, who systematically spread disinformation.
Sanctions have also been applied to 19 Iranian citizens, 7 Sudanese citizens, and 11 Iranian companies involved in Iranian ballistic missile and drone production programs.
"We continue to synchronize sanction regimes with the EU and partners. We expect further pressure on Russia and all those who help it maintain aggression. We are already finalizing joint work on the projects of the next EU and partner states' sanction decisions, including the 21st sanctions package," said advisor and Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasiuk.
