Ukrzaliznytsia Installs Air Conditioners in Regional Electric Trains for the First Time
"Ukrzaliznytsia" has installed air conditioning systems in regional electric trains for the first time. These are trains running on the well-known route Rivne — Lviv — Rivne, as well as on the new route Kyiv — Khmelnytskyi — Kyiv.
Ukrzaliznytsia notes that these routes are part of a new state order program for domestic railway passenger transportation.
For passengers, this is an alternative to long-distance trains between Kyiv and Lviv.
UZ states that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 52 electric trains have already been modernized. Currently, railway workers are completing the upgrade of another electric train with air conditioning, which will soon enter routes in the Odesa region as part of the state order for passenger transportation. By the end of the year, it is planned to modernize more than five such trains.
