Zelenskyy stated that he is now ready for negotiations with Putin to end the war
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he is ready for direct negotiations with Putin to end the war. He said this at a joint briefing with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
According to the head of state, Ukraine does not intend to wait until international partners resolve all global conflicts and is interested in achieving peace as soon as possible.
“I am ready right now for direct negotiations with Putin to end this war, and not wait until the US deals with all conflicts in the world,” Zelenskyy said.
The President also emphasized that Ukraine will respond to Russian drone and missile attacks with mirror actions.
“If the Russian Federation strikes us with drones and missiles, we will do the same. It is a matter of time when we can scale up,” he said.
In addition, Zelenskyy reported that Ukraine annually allocates from 45 to 50 billion dollars for the production of various types of weapons.
Separately, the head of state drew attention to the threat of Russian ballistic missiles, calling them one of the key instruments of pressure from the Russian Federation.
“Ballistics is the last Russian argument in the war, and sufficient countermeasures must be found,” the President emphasized.
