In Vinnytsia region, a man rammed his ex's car with three children inside out of jealousy
A resident of Vinnytsia region who deliberately caused a traffic accident was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Five people were injured as a result of the road traffic accident, including three teenagers. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
In court, prosecutors proved that the man had long been in conflict with his former partner out of jealousy and repeatedly threatened her. In particular, he stated that he would provoke an accident while the woman was driving.
According to the investigation, in May 2024, the victim was driving her 14-year-old daughter and two acquaintances aged 15 and 17 to school. A 60-year-old man was also in the car.
Carrying out his threats, the accused deliberately rammed the side of the woman's vehicle with his own car. As a result of the impact, the car went off the road and overturned.
As a result of the accident, the driver and four passengers sustained injuries of varying severity.
The Office of the Prosecutor General noted that after conducting a series of forensic examinations confirming the version of attempted murder, the man was notified of suspicion in November 2025.
The court sentenced him to 12 years in prison. During the pre-trial investigation and court proceedings, he was held in custody.
It is worth noting that the man did not admit his guilt.
