US President Donald Trump said he is glad about the possible meeting between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin to discuss ending the war in Ukraine. This was revealed during a White House broadcast on June 4.

Journalists asked Trump how he feels about the idea of a meeting between the two leaders. The press hinted that Zelenskyy's decision might be prompted by the fact that the US is currently occupied with the war in Iran.

"I think it would be great if they met. They should do it. End it," Trump told reporters.

The US president added that America, in his opinion, has "done a lot" for this meeting and called Zelenskyy and Putin "very good people" from "two incredible countries." The American leader said he seeks "certain concessions" from Russia and Ukraine and believes they will make them.

Trump also stated that Ukraine "would not have lasted even one or two days" without the equipment he provided and the efforts of the American army.

Recall that on June 4, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote an open letter to Putin, in which he proposed to meet and "end the war."
