The Cabinet of Ministers Simplified Obtaining State Support for Water User Organizations: What Will Change
The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to eliminate unnecessary requirements for water user organizations applying for state support. In particular, it is no longer necessary to determine the performance indicators of pumping stations that have been transferred to such organizations' ownership.
Thanks to these changes, the process of submitting applications for funding will become simpler and faster, which will contribute to the more prompt implementation of projects for the renewal and reconstruction of reclamation infrastructure.
According to the Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine, Iryna Ovcharenko, the government’s decision creates additional opportunities for the effective implementation of reforms in the field of land reclamation, as well as strengthening the country's food security.
She emphasized that the state continues to create clear and transparent conditions for the operation of water user organizations. According to her, simplifying the state support mechanism will allow farmers to more quickly implement projects for the modernization of reclamation infrastructure, attract investments, develop irrigation, and introduce water-saving technologies. She noted that such changes will contribute to more efficient use of water resources, increased resilience of the agricultural sector, and higher crop yields.
Simplifying the mechanism for providing state support to water user organizations involves updating the conditions for their work and participation in projects related to the modernization of reclamation infrastructure and the use of water resources.
