Elite cars, cash, and million-dollar discrepancies in declarations: police conduct large-scale searches of VLK officials
The National Police is conducting a large-scale operation "Aesculapius" aimed at uncovering facts of illegal enrichment and false declarations by officials of medical commissions.
Law enforcement officers are verifying information regarding possible discrepancies between the data stated in the officials' declarations and their actual property status. Preliminary data indicate that the amounts of such discrepancies range from 2 to 11 million UAH.
The police noted that these cases involve situations where assets of close relatives were not indicated in the declarations, including cars, apartments, houses, land plots, and cash. They are also checking facts of declaring property whose value may significantly exceed the officials' official income.
Within the framework of criminal proceedings, employees of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police, together with investigative units and defense sector prosecutors, conducted 58 searches in 16 regions of Ukraine. The investigative actions took place at the residences of the case figures and in their vehicles.
During the searches, law enforcement officers seized a number of cars, including a 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE 300D worth over 100 thousand dollars, as well as cash in national and foreign currencies. In addition, medical documentation, extracts, and documents of military medical commissions concerning 36 patients, contracts, receipts for money transfers, and payments for goods amounting from 600 thousand to over one million hryvnias were seized.
The police reported that the seized documents may indicate possible legalization of funds obtained illegally. All discovered facts are being verified within the framework of open criminal proceedings.
