Ukrainian pensioners who are outside the country and receive pension payments to accounts in Ukrainian banks must undergo annual physical identification by December 31, 2026. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in temporary suspension of pension payments.

The Pension Fund reminds that identification must be done every year regardless of whether the pensioner has done it before. The procedure is necessary to confirm the recipient's identity and prevent unlawful receipt of social payments.

According to the legislation, such verification is mandatory for citizens living abroad who continue to receive a Ukrainian pension through bank accounts in Ukraine. After successful identification, payments are made as usual.

In addition to Ukrainians abroad, residents of temporarily occupied territories who receive pension benefits must also undergo physical identification.

The Pension Fund also draws attention to another important point. Pension payments are transferred exclusively to accounts in Ukrainian banks. If a pensioner does not use their bank card for a long time and does not conduct any financial transactions, this may be grounds for additional verification by authorized bodies.

Therefore, pensioners abroad are advised not to delay identification and to fulfill this requirement by the end of 2026 to avoid possible problems with pension payments.
