A man who opened fire in the courtyard of a residential building was detained in Kyiv
In the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, patrol police detained a man who is likely involved in a shooting in the courtyard of a residential building.
According to the patrol police, a report was received on the emergency line 112 about an unknown person walking around the yard and firing shots.
Law enforcement officers promptly arrived at the specified address and found a man with an object resembling a weapon. Considering the circumstances, the patrol officers brought their service firearms to combat readiness in accordance with Article 46 of the Law of Ukraine "On the National Police" and detained the offender using handcuffs in accordance with Article 45 of the same law.
During the inspection of the scene, police found shell casings that likely remained after the shots. An investigative team was called to the scene. The seized weapon was sent for examination.
Investigators detained the man under the procedure of Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — hooliganism committed with the use of a weapon.
Investigative actions are currently ongoing and all circumstances of the incident are being established.
