In Ukraine, it was proposed to make psychological support for critical infrastructure workers mandatory
A project to create a state system of psychological support for critical infrastructure workers was presented in Ukraine.
The initiative "Psycho-emotional resilience of Ukraine's critical infrastructure" was presented during the public defense of the graduates of the XIV program "School of Ministers" of the Kyiv School of Public Administration named after Serhiy Nyzhny.
As reported by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Health, the project provides for the creation of the first state model in Europe for managing the psychological condition of critical infrastructure workers and its integration into the national security system.
According to the authors' concept, psychosocial support for personnel should become a mandatory standard to overcome the consequences of chronic war stress, staff shortages, and professional burnout.
The committee noted that the topic is especially relevant in the conditions of full-scale war, when a significant burden is borne by energy workers, medical workers, rescuers, and other employees whose work the functioning of the state depends on.
During the discussion, the need to refine the implementation mechanisms of the project was also emphasized. In particular, this concerns clarifying the regulatory framework of the proposed changes and determining the body responsible for implementing the initiative.
In addition, the committee emphasized that changes in the field of mental health should be based on the availability of professional assistance, voluntariness of seeking it, confidentiality for employees, and effective use of the healthcare system's capabilities. It is also important not to create additional administrative barriers or excessive regulatory requirements for businesses.
