Law enforcement officers in Kyiv region detained a 33-year-old resident of Vinnytsia suspected of human trafficking and recruiting women for further sexual exploitation outside Ukraine.

According to the police, the suspect sought women aged 18 to 35 who were in difficult financial situations. Potential victims were offered highly paid jobs abroad, particularly in Germany and Cyprus.

According to the investigation, the suspect created a group in one of the messengers to search for candidates, where she posted relevant advertisements.

The woman was detained during procedural actions and prevented from smuggling a 28-year-old Ukrainian citizen across the state border.

During the inspection of the scene and a search of the suspect's residence, law enforcement officers seized money and other physical evidence that, according to the investigation, confirm her involvement in illegal activities.

Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, informed the woman of suspicion of human trafficking.

If found guilty, she faces up to 12 years in prison.
