Due to the war, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians were forced to leave the country in search of temporary shelter abroad. For many of them, pension payments remain the main source of financial support. At the same time, some citizens face difficulties and misunderstandings when receiving payments.

Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets noted that while outside Ukraine, citizens can contact the Pension Fund of Ukraine by sending documents through the PFU web portal or using postal services.

The authorized representative emphasizes that the document package must be complete, and copies should be of proper quality.

Also, pensioners temporarily residing abroad are required to undergo physical identification once a year by December 31. This can be done in one of three ways: through the PFU portal, via videoconference with the Pension Fund, or through foreign diplomatic institutions by obtaining a document confirming the person's fact of being alive.

If citizens' rights are violated, it is recommended to contact the Ombudsman’s Office. They verify facts, send inquiries to authorities, and monitor their response.
