Pension will increase by over 1000 UAH: who is eligible for a special state allowance
In Ukraine, some pensioners are entitled to an additional lifelong pension payment for special merits to the state. This applies to citizens who have raised a large family and meet the requirements established by law.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine reminds that such an allowance can be received by people who have raised at least five children until they reach the age of six. When determining the right to payment, not only biological but also officially adopted children are taken into account. At the same time, a mandatory condition remains the presence of the necessary insurance record on the basis of which the pension was assigned to the person.
Experts note that both mothers and fathers of large families can claim the supplement. If a woman did not apply for the allowance or did not exercise her right to it, the father of the children can apply for the payment. To do this, he must confirm the fact of raising five or more children up to the age of six with the appropriate documents.
In addition, the legislation provides separate pension benefits for mothers of large families, including the possibility of early retirement if certain conditions are met.
Amount of the supplement
Currently, the monthly supplement for special merits to Ukraine ranges from 35% to 40% of the subsistence minimum for persons who have lost their ability to work. Considering the current figure of 2595 hryvnias, the amount of such payment fluctuates approximately from 908 to 1038 hryvnias per month.
The supplement is paid together with the pension and is assigned for life.
How to apply for the supplement
The Pension Fund emphasizes that this payment is not assigned automatically. To receive it, one must personally contact the territorial subdivision of the Pension Fund of Ukraine and submit the appropriate application.
The reason is that state registers do not always contain complete information about the family composition and the fact of raising children, so the right to the supplement must be confirmed with documents.
Required documents
To apply for the supplement, the applicant will need:
- Ukrainian citizen passport;
- taxpayer identification number;
- birth certificates of all children;
- documents confirming the raising of children up to six years of age;
- documents on insurance record.
In case of a positive decision by the Pension Fund, parents of large families can receive an additional over one thousand hryvnias monthly on top of their main pension. That is why experts advise not to delay the processing of documents and to check in advance the availability of all necessary confirmations.
