The Ministry of Digital Transformation Updated the Dictionary of Artificial Intelligence Terms: What AI Slop, Superintelligence, and Prompt Injection Mean
The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine presented an updated version of the dictionary of terms in the field of artificial intelligence. The new edition includes 40 relevant concepts that reflect modern technological trends and international approaches to AI regulation.
According to the Ministry, the dictionary was supplemented with a number of new terms, including:
- AI slop — mass low-quality content created by generative artificial intelligence, where the speed of dissemination and scaling outweighs accuracy and meaningfulness;
- prompt injection — a method of manipulating a language model using specially formulated textual commands;
- model drift — the gradual loss of model accuracy due to changes in real-world data over time;
- superintelligence — AI systems capable of self-improvement that can significantly exceed human cognitive abilities in all areas — from creativity and strategic thinking to solving complex problems;
- system prompt (initial context) — a basic instruction for artificial intelligence before interacting with the user, which defines the context, rules, and style of work throughout the entire session.
The Ministry noted that each definition in the dictionary is accompanied by an English equivalent. This approach is intended to ensure a unified understanding of terminology among specialists during the development of AI-based products, as well as when preparing legislative and regulatory acts in this field.
The Ministry emphasized that due to the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies, the dictionary is not exhaustive. The document is planned to be regularly updated and supplemented with new concepts in accordance with technological development, professional practice, and international standards.
