In May 2026, inflation predictably slowed due to seasonal factors – to 8.2% year-on-year. This was reported by the National Bank of Ukraine.

“At the same time, actual figures for overall and core inflation exceeded the trajectory of the NBU's April forecast,” the regulator's statement said.

It is noted that the key factor maintaining fundamental price pressure is a more significant acceleration in the growth of prices for processed food products and services amid increased business expenses on energy resources, wages, and logistics.

“The National Bank will take this and other factors into account when making future monetary policy decisions,” the bank added.
