Missing Since Last Year: Body of 28-Year-Old Woman Found in Parents' Shed in Kirovohrad Region
In Kirovohrad region, law enforcement officers uncovered the circumstances of the disappearance of a 28-year-old woman who had been missing since February 2026. According to the investigation, the woman was killed at the end of 2025, and her biological father may be involved in the crime.
According to the prosecutor's office, the woman's godmother filed the missing person report. She had been unable to contact her friend for a long time, and when she came to the house where the woman lived with her parents and her three-year-old child, she found that the mother was missing and the child was staying with relatives. The explanations given by the parents about the daughter's whereabouts seemed unconvincing to the complainant, so she turned to the police.
During the investigation, detectives established that on the night of December 31, 2025, a conflict arose between the 50-year-old man and his daughter during shared alcohol consumption. According to the investigation, the man fatally shot the woman with a hunting rifle and threatened his wife with harm if she disclosed the circumstances of the incident.
The investigation believes that after the murder, the suspect concealed his daughter's body by burying it in the shed on the property. During a search, law enforcement officers found the woman's body with signs of violent death, as well as an unregistered rifle that was likely used in the crime.
The man was detained and charged under Part 1, Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional murder). The court imposed a preventive measure of detention without the right to bail.
The deceased woman's minor child was removed from the family. She is currently in a safe environment.
