In Irpin, a 47-year-old man opened fire at passersby – he may face up to 7 years in prison
In the city of Irpin, Bucha district, a shooting occurred on the evening of June 14. At about 21:14, the police received a report about gunshots on one of the city streets. This was reported by the Kyiv region police.
Law enforcement officers preliminarily established that an unknown person was firing shots at passersby.
A patrol police response team and an investigative-operational group immediately arrived at the scene. The police quickly identified and detained the probable offender. He turned out to be a 47-year-old local resident.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Based on the incident, law enforcement officers entered information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism). The sanction of this part of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of 3 to 7 years.
