How to switch from one type of pension to another
The Pension Fund reminded that if a person is entitled to different types of pensions (by age, for long service, due to disability, in connection with the loss of a breadwinner), only one pension is assigned based on the person's choice.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine emphasized that switching from one type of pension to another (for example, from a long service pension to an age pension) is done upon the pensioner's application.
An application to switch from one type of pension to another can be submitted either through the service center of the territorial body of the Pension Fund of Ukraine or online – via the Fund's electronic services web portal.
Offline switching from one type of pension to another
The Procedure for submitting and processing documents for the appointment (recalculation) of pensions according to the Law of Ukraine "On Compulsory State Pension Insurance" defines that the day of a citizen's appeal regarding the transfer from one type of pension to another is considered the day when the Pension Fund of Ukraine's office receives the corresponding application with all the necessary documents from the person.
The application for switching from one type of pension to another is submitted to the Fund personally at the place of residence (registration), and if necessary, the applicant's legal representative (parents or guardians) submits it at the place of residence (registration) of the representative.
According to Article 45 of the mentioned law, the transfer from one type of pension to another is carried out from the day of submitting the application with all necessary documents based on documents about insurance record, salary (income), and other documents contained in the pension case at the time of transfer, as well as additional documents obtained by the Pension Fund authorities.
