In Kyiv, over 430 residential buildings were damaged after the Russian attack — how to get money for restoration
In Kyiv, as a result of the Russian attack on the night of May 24, damage to 432 residential buildings was recorded. The most affected was the Shevchenkivskyi district — 262 objects were damaged there. This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA).
Currently, the relevant services are preparing to inspect the damaged objects and carry out restoration work.
As indicated by the state administration, in Kyiv, the customers of the restoration works are the utility company "Zhytloinvestbud-UKB" and the district state administrations in the city of Kyiv. Specialists of "Zhytloinvestbud-UKB" are restoring 47 buildings that suffered the most complex structural damage. The district administrations are to restore 218 buildings at the expense of the city budget, of which 83 are the most damaged. For these works, in 2026, the district state administrations were allocated about 856 million hryvnias.
Assistance can be obtained in case of damage and destruction of housing within the framework of state and city programs.
Under the "eRecovery" program, compensation of up to 350,000 hryvnias is provided for damaged apartments and up to 500,000 hryvnias for damaged private houses. These funds can be used to purchase building materials or order repair services.
In addition, the capital provides its own payments: a one-time assistance of 40,000 hryvnias for temporary relocation, a monthly assistance of 20,000 hryvnias (up to 12 months) for those forced to leave, as well as 10,000 hryvnias within the city program "Care. Towards Kyivans."
