The Ministry of Education and Science Approved the Model Regulation on the Competition for the Position of Head of a Vocational Education Institution
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine announced that it has approved the model regulation on the competition for the position of head of a vocational education institution. The document introduces a new procedure for conducting the competition: from the announcement and submission of documents to the determination of the winner and the publication of results.
One of the key innovations is the involvement of the supervisory board in the competitive selection process.
In institutions where a supervisory board is to be established, it will be the supervisory board that evaluates candidates, determines the winner, and recommends them for the position of head of the vocational college.
Candidates for the position will present development programs for the institution to the supervisory board and undergo an interview. The total duration of the competition procedure will be no more than two months.
The Ministry of Education and Science adds that the new model will strengthen the influence of supervisory boards in the development of vocational education institutions. Starting from September 12, 2026, heads of vocational colleges will be selected according to the updated procedure.
