The EU Council approved a decision to allocate almost 2.8 billion euros to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility
On Thursday, May 28, the EU Council approved a decision to allocate almost 2.8 billion euros to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.
She noted that the European Commission positively assessed the implementation of Ukraine's Plan for the fourth quarter of 2025.
“We thank the Verkhovna Rada for supporting important decisions and joint work. As of the end of May 2026, 86 steps of Ukraine's Plan have already been completed through joint efforts, with another 65 in progress. We continue to implement reforms together and move along the path of European integration. We sincerely thank our European partners for their support and trust,” said Svyrydenko.
The head of government reminded that the Ukraine Facility is an important financial support instrument for Ukraine. Since the start of the instrument's operation in 2024, 26.8 billion euros have already been received under the Ukraine Facility program. The total volume of the program for 2024–2027 amounts to 50 billion euros.
