Extract from the register instead of certificates – the State Migration Service explained the new procedure for address confirmation
The Migration Service of the Dnipropetrovsk region explained which documents currently confirm the registered or declared place of residence and whether it is necessary to contact the State Migration Service for this.
The agency notes that citizens often inquire about documentary confirmation of their place of residence or registration. Currently, such confirmation is an extract from the territorial community register.
This extract can be obtained in several ways: by contacting the registration authority or the administrative services center, as well as through the Unified State Web Portal of Electronic Services "Diia".
The service emphasizes that extracts from the territorial community register, obtained both in paper and electronic form, have the same legal force.
To confirm data about the place of residence registered before December 1, 2021, information entered into the citizen's passport of Ukraine in booklet form, the digital passport, or the foreign passport in "Diia" can also be used, as well as the corresponding extract from the territorial community register.
Thus, to confirm the place of residence, citizens do not necessarily have to personally contact the State Migration Service – the necessary data is available through existing registers and digital services.
