Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a shortage of anti-ballistic missiles in the USA – Ukraine requests licenses for Patriot
There is insufficient production of anti-ballistic missiles in the United States, which could cause crisis consequences in various regions of the world. This was stated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to him, Russia is increasing its own production of ballistic missiles, while the volume of anti-ballistic means produced in the USA remains insufficient for current challenges.
"I sent a letter to the White House and the US Congress. I hope they understand and respond," the President said.
He noted that the current production rate — 60–65 anti-ballistic missiles per month — is insufficient given the current security situation.
The President also emphasized the need to expand production and again requested licenses for Ukraine to manufacture Patriot missiles.
According to him, Ukraine has the capacity to increase the production of such missiles, which, in his opinion, could also strengthen the security of other regions, including the Middle East and countries supported by the United States.
Zelenskyy added that until the creation of a European anti-ballistic system, Ukraine will continue to need US support in the field of missile defense.
