Ukraine and Spain signed a protocol that defines the procedure for identifying and returning persons who violated the rules of entry, exit, or stay on the territory of both states.

A delegation from the Kingdom of Spain, led by the Minister of the Interior Fernando Grande-Marlaska Gómez, arrived in Ukraine on an official visit.

During the meeting, the parties signed an implementation protocol between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Spain to the agreement between Ukraine and the European Community on the readmission of persons.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that the document is intended to strengthen cooperation between the countries and establish clear mechanisms for the rapid identification and safe return of persons who do not comply with the migration legislation of both states.

During the negotiations, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Igor Klymenko, thanked the Spanish side for their support in training Ukrainian servicemen. In particular, fighters of the National Guard of Ukraine have already undergone training at one of Spain's training centers.

A separate topic of discussion was airspace security and countering the illegal use of drones. Representatives of the two states considered the possibility of developing joint approaches to regulating and controlling the circulation of UAVs in the countries of the European Union.

The parties also exchanged views on further support for Ukraine in wartime conditions, the development of cooperation between law enforcement agencies, and responding to modern security challenges.

As a result of the meeting, Ukraine and Spain confirmed their intention to expand cooperation in the fields of security, migration policy, personnel training, humanitarian aid, and the implementation of modern technologies to protect the population.
