Not just tickets and hotel – Ukrainians warned about important nuances before the trip
When planning a vacation or tourist trip, it is worth not only choosing a route but also carefully familiarizing yourself with the terms of tourist service provision. This was emphasized by the State Consumer Service, reminding that consumers have the right to safe and quality services, as well as to receive reliable information about them.
The agency noted that relations in the field of tourist services are regulated by the Law of Ukraine "On Tourism," the Law of Ukraine "On Consumer Rights Protection," and the terms of the tourist service contract.
When concluding a contract, tourists are recommended to check whether the tour operator has a valid license and financial security. Up-to-date information about such entities is contained in the Licensing Register of Tour Operator Entities.
The contract should also specify departure and return dates, information about transfer if such a service is provided, hotel category, terms of tour cancellation, and refund conditions.
In addition, every tourist must have an individual insurance policy for medical services and accident insurance. It is also necessary to keep the receipt of tour payment or fiscal receipt.
The State Consumer Service emphasizes that if the tour operator did not provide the services stipulated by the contract and refuses to resolve the situation, the consumer can contact the territorial body of the service in their region.
For consideration of the appeal, it is recommended to provide photo and video materials, a copy of the tourist service contract, as well as accounting documents confirming the expenses incurred.
The appeal should clearly describe the nature of the violation, indicate the name of the business entity, and state your demands.
The agency stressed that careful familiarization with the contract terms and keeping all documents is the best way to protect your rights and avoid troubles during the trip.
