Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about Russia's "weak response" to the proposal to end the war
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that the Russian side once again demonstrates unwillingness to end the war, and its position is weak and disappointing to the international community.
As previously reported by the "Judicial and Legal Newspaper", the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, wrote an open letter to Putin proposing a meeting to "end the war." The Kremlin leader Volodymyr Putin announced that he had read the open letter from the President of Ukraine but stated that there was no point in a personal meeting.
In response, the President of Ukraine noted that Ukraine and its partners clearly see that Russia is not ready to change its approach and acknowledge responsibility for the war.
"Unfortunately, the Russian side again chooses war – everyone heard today's response. A weak response. He simply does not want to end the war. I think many in the world were disappointed by this response. He does not want to change anything and does not want to admit that his war is liked only by himself and those who profit from him," Zelenskyy said.
Zelenskyy added that Russia's international partners, who benefit from the war, also continue to support it.
"They were all very smiling today," the President said.
Zelenskyy emphasized that in response to Russia's actions, economic and political pressure must be increased.
"That means Russia should have less money, and pressure on Russia should increase," he stressed.
