The NBU Updated the Procedure for Cash Transportation: What Will Change for Banks and Cash-in-Transit Companies

The NBU updated the procedure for cash collection and transportation of currency valuables by banks and CIT companies, aligning regulation with EU standards and current legislation.
The National Bank of Ukraine has updated the procedure for organizing cash collection and transportation of currency valuables across Ukraine by banks and legal entities licensed to conduct cash operations and engaged in cash collection and transportation of currency and other valuables (CIT companies). This was reported by the NBU.
Main changes:
- requirements for organizing cash collection and transportation of currency valuables have been extended to financial inclusion banks and their commercial agents (units) due to new financial inclusion legislation;
- cash collection from clients is prohibited in the premises of banks, cash-in-transit companies, and cash processing companies;
- it is required that cash collection of self-service software and technical complexes (SSTCs) be carried out directly by bank cash collectors or CIT companies;
- requirements for the composition of cash collection teams have been clarified in cases of use of firearms during valuables transportation;
- a ban has been introduced on the presence of unauthorized persons in operational vehicles during cash collection and valuables transportation;
- banks and CIT companies are obliged to comply with internal documents regarding the organization of cash collection and protection of valuables;
- conditions for the use of simple electronic signatures of clients on accompanying documents during cash collection have been defined;
- the possibility of marking cash collection vehicles with special pictograms according to EU regulations has been provided;
- terminology has been updated in accordance with the law on precious metals and stones;
- annual reporting forms for banks and CIT companies regarding cash collection and transportation of currency valuables have been established.
