The Ministry of Culture and State Film Agency received new authority — to document Russian war crimes
The Cabinet of Ministers has amended the plan for the implementation and provision of measures for the legal regime of martial law in Ukraine.
In particular, the plan has been supplemented with a new item 30, which provides for the implementation of measures defined by international humanitarian law norms, especially in the field of documenting war crimes and preserving cinematographic heritage.
According to the changes, the implementation of such measures will be carried out using state support mechanisms for cinematography.
The new plan item also provides for ensuring the implementation of the provisions of the Law of Ukraine "On Cinematography," which regulate the procedure and conditions for the distribution and screening of films during martial law.
The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine has been designated as responsible for implementing these measures, with the involvement of the State Film Agency of Ukraine in their execution.
The changes were made to the plan approved by the Cabinet of Ministers' order dated February 24, 2022, No. 181 "Issues of implementing and ensuring the measures of the legal regime of martial law in Ukraine." The new item will be effective throughout the entire period of martial law.
