Women in the Armed Forces of Ukraine have the same social guarantees as civilian women, as well as additional rights provided by legislation for servicewomen. This was reminded by the Ivano-Frankivsk Recruitment and Social Support Center.

“Pregnancy is not an obstacle to exercising the right to social protection. A servicewoman can independently choose to continue service or be discharged from the Armed Forces,” the Recruitment Center emphasized.

After pregnancy is confirmed by medical documents, a woman has the right to be transferred to a position with less physical workload according to doctors' recommendations.

The legislation guarantees paid leave related to pregnancy and childbirth with retention of monetary allowance and crediting this period towards length of service.

During pregnancy, servicewomen are not involved in training and special gatherings, and official business trips are possible only with their consent.

The Recruitment Center stressed that to receive the provided guarantees, it is necessary to timely inform the command and provide the appropriate medical documents.
