In Ukraine, drivers are being prepared for tough fines for speeding and other traffic violations

Special attention is planned to be given to drivers who regularly exceed speed limits and ignore safety requirements.

The government is working on a package of measures to reduce road accidents. Among the proposed changes are strengthening responsibility for systematic traffic violations, improving the system for recording violations, and regulating the use of electric scooters and other light electric transport. The preparation of the relevant changes was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuliia Svyrydenko.
According to her, the government plans to:
- strengthen responsibility for systematic traffic violations, particularly for speeding;
- introduce tougher sanctions for drivers who regularly exceed established speed limits;
- improve the system of automatic and non-automatic recording of traffic violations;
- legally regulate the use of light personal electric transport, including electric scooters.
The government promises to make final decisions taking into account public proposals.
