The Cabinet of Ministers has directed 2.3 billion UAH to support educational institutions and prepare them for the 2026/2027 heating season. The funds will be used to purchase backup power systems, modernize infrastructure, restore damaged facilities, and strengthen the energy independence of educational institutions. This was reported by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko.

According to her, nearly 500 million UAH is allocated for schools to purchase backup power sources, batteries, solar power plants, and other necessary equipment.

Another 417 million UAH will be received by institutions of professional pre-higher education. Of this amount, 217 million UAH will be directed to pay utility bills, and 200 million UAH — to prepare more than 80 largest colleges for the autumn-winter period and increase their energy autonomy.

The government allocated 875 million UAH for universities. In particular, 600 million UAH will be directed to the installation of cogeneration units, solar power plants, and energy storage systems, and another 275 million UAH — to pay utility bills.

Separately, 500 million UAH has been allocated for the restoration of damaged higher education institutions, the arrangement of shelters, and the purchase of necessary equipment.

The government emphasizes that all schools, colleges, and universities must be properly prepared for the 2026/2027 heating season to ensure an uninterrupted educational process regardless of possible challenges in the energy sector.
