Thunderstorms and Short Summer Rains: What the Weather Will Be Like in Ukraine This Week
From June 9 to 12, most regions of Ukraine will experience unstable summer weather with short rains and thunderstorms. This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
According to meteorologists' forecasts, from June 9 to 11, most regions will have unstable summer weather caused by atmospheric fronts in a low-pressure field and a moist warm air mass. This synoptic situation will contribute to active convection development, especially during daytime hours.
As a result, many regions are expected to have typical summer short rains, which will be uneven both in terms of distribution and intensity. Also, fluctuations in atmospheric pressure and air humidity are possible throughout the week.
According to the forecast for June 9, Ukraine will be cloudy with clearings. At night, short rains are expected in most northern, central, and southern regions. During the day, precipitation is expected almost throughout the country, except for the western regions. Thunderstorms are possible in some places.
The wind will be mostly northwesterly, with a speed of 5–10 m/s.
Air temperature at night will range from 13 to 18 degrees Celsius, and in the western regions from 10 to 15 degrees. During the day, the air will warm up to 20–25 degrees, and in the south and southeast of the country up to 28 degrees Celsius.
