On Wednesday, June 10, the five-year transition period for transferring information from paper employment record books to the electronic system ends. However, for citizens, this does not mean that after this date the employment record will disappear, paper employment record books will stop being accepted, or people will lose the ability to confirm their periods of work. This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine.

"The digitization of employment record books will continue even after June 10.

The five-year transition period was established so that the state, employers, and citizens could gradually transfer a large amount of information from paper employment record books to the Register of Insured Persons. During this time, employers and employees had the opportunity to submit scanned copies of employment record books, and the Pension Fund processed this data and entered it into the electronic system," the ministry stated.

They also emphasized that the end of the transition period does not mean the end of work with information about employment activity. If data from the paper employment record book has not yet been entered into the electronic system, it can still be submitted.

What is important to know about the digitization procedure

  1. The digitization procedure does not change

As before, information from the paper employment record book can be submitted for entry into the electronic system. This can be done by the employer or the individual themselves through the web portal of electronic services of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

That is, after June 10, people do not lose the opportunity to submit their employment record book for digitization.

  1. If you did not manage to do it before June 10 — the experience will not disappear

Acquired employment and insurance experience is not lost because the employment record book has not yet been digitized.

The paper employment record book can still be used as a document confirming periods of work. In particular, when assigning a pension, the Pension Fund takes into account experience based on the employment record book and other documents provided by law.

  1. Pensioners do not need to resubmit employment record books

People who have already been assigned a pension do not need to submit their employment record book for digitization just because the transition period has ended.

When the pension was assigned, they already submitted documents about their work experience. These periods were taken into account when calculating the pension and are stored in the information databases of the Pension Fund.

Therefore, pensioners do not need to contact the Pension Fund of Ukraine again unless there are other reasons to clarify or supplement the data.

The electronic employment record book reduces the risk of loss or damage to documents and allows all data about work experience to be stored in a protected digital format.

The main thing for citizens: after June 10, the procedure for digitizing employment record books will continue, the paper employment record book does not lose its significance, and acquired experience remains preserved.
