In the Sumy region, two minors were injured as a result of careless handling of explosive objects. This was reported by the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov.

The incident occurred in the Konotop community. According to preliminary data, the children found unknown objects and threw them into a bonfire, after which an explosion occurred. As a result, an 11-year-old and a 15-year-old boy were injured.

The injured are under medical supervision, and their lives are not in danger.

The Sumy Regional Military Administration noted that the region remains one of the most contaminated with explosive objects. It is also emphasized that the danger is posed not only by abandoned ammunition but also by explosive devices dropped by the enemy from drones, as well as fragments of Russian UAVs.

The agency urged everyone to be extremely careful and to definitely explain mine safety rules to children.
