Took wife and child hostage: special operation held in Uzhhorod to detain a man
In Uzhhorod, police special forces from the Rapid Operational Response Unit conducted a special operation and detained an armed man who had barricaded himself in a house with his wife and child. This was reported by the National Police.
“Today around 4:40 PM, the police received a report that in one of the neighborhoods of Uzhhorod a man was threatening his wife with a pistol. The caller heard gunshots. At the time of the police arrival, the man had barricaded himself in the house where his wife and 5-year-old child were with him,” the law enforcement officers stated.
It is noted that the man did not respond to the police.
According to the report, the Rapid Operational Response Unit special forces carried out a special operation and detained the offender. The child and woman were safely escorted out of the house. Currently, their lives and health are not at risk.
