Ihor Klymenko announced the creation of a working group on civilian weapons circulation
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, announced that he signed an order to create a working group for the regulatory and legal regulation of civilian weapons circulation issues.
“It is within this platform that agreed positions will become proposals to be sent to the relevant Committee of the Verkhovna Rada,” Klymenko said.
According to him, during previous consultations, two issues were identified that require priority consideration.
“First: a clear and understandable procedure for obtaining a weapons permit. Second: issues of responsibility and self-defense,” Klymenko said.
He emphasized that the task is to develop clear, fair, and safe rules that will take into account both citizens' rights and the state's security interests.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that any decisions regarding the legalization of weapons must be made exclusively at the legislative level. According to him, the topic remains sensitive and requires a balanced approach.
