The High Anti-Corruption Court partially satisfied the prosecutor's claim from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office to recognize the assets of the former head of the department for combating organized groups with signs of corruption of the Strategic Investigations Department in Kyiv of the National Police as unjustified and to seize them in favor of the state.

During lifestyle monitoring, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) established that between 2021 and 2023, he purchased and registered several expensive cars in his own name and in the names of his family members, including:

  • VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG, 2022 model year, worth over 2.9 million hryvnias;
  • VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT, 2021 model year, worth 1.35 million hryvnias;
  • BMW 330I, 2022 model year, worth 1.75 million hryvnias.

Additionally, in 2021, the police officer spent over 500 thousand hryvnias to form a cash asset of 27 thousand dollars, without having the financial capacity to do so. In 2023, more than 700 thousand hryvnias were credited to the accounts of the declarant and his wife, the origin of which is unknown.

The official explained that the funds for acquiring the mentioned property were received as loans and gifts from close persons. However, the analysis of income and expenses of the declarant and his family members confirmed the absence of sufficient legal income for such assets.

It was also established that one of the cars was registered to a relative of the ex-police officer, who worked as a security guard in one of the stores of a food and industrial supermarket chain in Ukraine. However, examined evidence, including bank documents, information on use, storage, and maintenance of the car, confirmed the actual ownership and use of this asset by the declarant himself.

As a result of the case review, the High Anti-Corruption Court recognized the assets as unjustified and ordered their seizure in favor of the state totaling over 6.7 million UAH:

  • a portion of cash savings amounting to over 540 thousand hryvnias;
  • the car "VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT", 2021 model year, worth over 1.3 million UAH (seizure of value);
  • income received from the sale of this car in the amount of 150 thousand hryvnias;
  • the car "VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG", 2022 model year, worth over 2.9 million hryvnias (seizure of value);
  • the car "BMW 330I", 2022 model year, worth over 1.7 million hryvnias.
