In Zakarpattia, a boy suffered second-degree burns on 50% of his body while burning garbage
In Zakarpattia, an eight-year-old boy suffered severe burns while burning garbage near a river. The child with multiple injuries was hospitalized.
According to the Zakarpattia Emergency Medical Assistance Center, the medics who arrived at the scene diagnosed the boy with second-degree thermal burns. The face, upper and lower limbs, as well as the buttocks, were affected by contact with the fire.
Doctors estimate that burns cover almost 50% of the child's body surface. After providing emergency care at the scene, the boy was transported to the Zakarpattia Regional Children's Hospital for further treatment.
Medical professionals emphasize that burning garbage, dry vegetation, or branches poses a serious danger, especially when children are nearby. Parents and guardians are urged not to leave minors unattended near open flames and to regularly remind them of safety rules.
