As reported by the "Judicial and Legal Newspaper", the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law to modernize the monetary provision for police officers and rescuers (bill No. 6506-1), which establishes a minimum payment level — no less than 10 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons.

The law stipulates that the monetary provision for police officers and personnel of the civil protection service, both rank-and-file and commanding staff, calculated per month, cannot be less than 10 times the subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons established as of January 1 of the calendar year.

The monetary provision now includes the official salary, special rank salary, seniority allowance, bonuses, and other types of payments determined by the Cabinet of Ministers.

It is separately specified that police officers serving abroad will receive payments in the national currency and additional remuneration in foreign currency according to government-established norms.

For those on business trips or seconded to other government bodies, the payment procedure will be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers.

Indexation of payments is also provided for.

The application of the new monetary provision conditions is planned from January 1, 2027.
