A teenager drowned in a lake in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv
In the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv, rescuers retrieved the body of a teenager who drowned in the "Verkhnie Vygurivske" lake.
The report about the incident was received by the State Emergency Service in the evening of June 11, almost at 11 PM. According to eyewitnesses, the teenager dived into the water and disappeared from sight.
During the initial search operations, rescuers inspected the lake's water area around the perimeter using spotlights, but they were unable to locate the missing person at that time.
Today, June 12, the State Emergency Service divers conducted a detailed examination of the lake bottom. The body was found about 20 meters from the shore at a depth of approximately 6 meters. Using diving equipment, the deceased was brought to the shore.
The circumstances of the tragedy are being investigated by law enforcement officers.
