A giant arena has already been built near the White House in Washington, where mixed martial arts fights are planned to take place on June 14. The event is dedicated to the 80th birthday of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, as well as the upcoming 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States. This was reported by Associated Press.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the event a "gift to the American people."

Donald Trump previously announced his intention to hold UFC fights on the White House grounds with about a thousand spectators as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, which falls on July 4. At the same time, the first fights are scheduled for June 14 — Trump's birthday and U.S. Flag Day. Nevertheless, the organizers position the event as part of the independence anniversary celebrations. The event is named "UFC Freedom 250."

According to journalists, an octagonal arena about 9 meters in diameter has been erected on the south lawn of the White House. Above it is a structure called the "Claw" — a four-sided construction rising in an arch more than 27 meters high, equipped with lighting, speakers, cables, and four large screens.

It is expected that about 4,300 spectators will be able to watch the fights directly near the octagon. Another approximately 85,000 tickets were sold for viewing the broadcast in the nearby Ellipse Park, where the event will be shown on large screens.

The arena also features logos of several sponsors, including Morgan & Morgan, Bud Light, Dodge Ram, Corona Extra, and Polymarket. The White House states that the expenses are covered by the UFC, but it is noted that seven federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Aviation Administration, "allocated significant resources and personnel" for the event.
