Ukraine imposed sanctions against 10 Russian telecom operators and internet providers
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions on ten Russian telecommunications companies, including mobile operators and internet providers.
The restrictions apply to enterprises that provide the Russian occupation structures with secure communication channels and internet access in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories to individuals and organizations cooperating with the aggressor state. The sanctions list also includes satellite communication operators, internet service providers, and companies involved in broadcasting Russian television content.
Among the sanctioned companies are "Luhansk Communications" and "Mobile Communication Systems," which Russia uses to spread its narratives and lies about the situation in Ukraine. Sanctions were also applied to the federal satellite and telecommunications operator "Amtel-Communication," which provides communication services, including for the Russian authorities, and the enterprise "Space Communication," which supplies secure communication channels for waging war against Ukraine.
Ukraine will share all information about these companies with partners and raise the issue of synchronizing sanctions in international jurisdictions.
