From September 1, 2026, Ukrainian students will receive significantly higher academic and named scholarships. For certain categories of students, the payment amounts will nearly double, and the presidential scholarship will reach 20,000 hryvnias per month.

The State Budget for 2026 allocates 6.6 billion UAH for student scholarships. This is 1.2 billion UAH more compared to the previous year.

The Law on the State Budget for 2026, prepared by the Ministry of Finance, was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on December 3, 2025. The new payment amounts will be applied starting from the new academic year — September 1, 2026.

The following increases are planned for students of higher education institutions:

  • Presidential scholarship of Ukraine — from 10,000 to 20,000 UAH;
  • Verkhovna Rada scholarship of Ukraine — from 4,400 to 8,800 UAH;
  • Cabinet of Ministers scholarship of Ukraine — from 4,000 to 8,000 UAH;
  • Minimum academic scholarship — from 2,000 to 4,000 UAH;
  • Increased academic scholarship for special achievements — from 2,910 to 5,820 UAH;
  • Scholarship based on sectoral principle — from 2,550 to 5,100 UAH;
  • Increased sectoral scholarship — from 3,710 to 7,420 UAH.

For students of colleges and other institutions of professional pre-higher education, an increase in payments is also planned:

  • Presidential scholarship of Ukraine — from 7,600 to 15,200 UAH;
  • Verkhovna Rada scholarship of Ukraine — from 3,320 to 6,640 UAH;
  • Minimum academic scholarship — from 1,510 to 3,020 UAH;
  • Increased academic scholarship for special achievements — from 2,197 to 4,394 UAH;
  • Scholarship based on sectoral principle — from 1,930 to 3,860 UAH;
  • Increased sectoral scholarship — from 2,809 to 5,618 UAH.

The government emphasizes that the revision of scholarship amounts is aimed at supporting youth, increasing motivation for studying, and developing human capital, which is one of the key resources for the country's recovery and development.
