The Ovruch District Court delivered a verdict regarding a local resident who owed more than 100 thousand hryvnias in child support for three minor children. This was reported by the Korosten District Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors noted that the court upheld the public accusation in the case of repeated malicious evasion of child support payments (Part 2, Article 164 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre-trial and court investigation established that the man systematically failed to fulfill his obligation to support the children.

It is noted that in April 2025 he was already convicted for a similar offense under Part 1, Article 164 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. At that time, the court sentenced him to one year of probation and gave him the opportunity to change his behavior, find employment, and start paying child support.

However, according to the prosecutor's office, the man did not take the path of correction. He did not find employment, did not contact the employment center, and did not provide any material assistance to the children, including food or essential items.

As a result, the debt owed to the three children exceeded 100 thousand hryvnias.

By court decision, the man was found guilty of repeated malicious evasion of child support payments. Taking into account the previous sentence, he was given a final punishment of 2 years and 1 month of restricted freedom. He will serve the sentence in a correctional center, where he will be under supervision and engaged in labor.

The verdict has not yet come into legal force and may be appealed.
