President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported a phone conversation with the President of the United States Donald Trump, during which the parties discussed in detail the issue of ending Russia's war against Ukraine, the situation on the battlefield, and the upcoming meeting at the G7 summit.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that he congratulated Donald Trump on his birthday and wished him success in efforts to achieve peace.
The Head of State also thanked the United States for supporting Ukraine, emphasizing that the Ukrainian side remembers every step of assistance — from supplying Javelin systems to Patriot systems.
The President noted that during the conversation, the parties discussed steps that could contribute to bringing peace closer right now. Zelenskyy also informed the American leader about the latest events on the front and about strengthening Ukraine's positions.
Moreover, the presidents agreed to continue discussions during a personal meeting at the G7 summit. According to Zelenskyy, the parties have a number of ideas that can help bring peace closer and protect people's lives.
