People's Deputy of Three Convocations and One of the Developers of the Draft Constitution of Ukraine Serhiy Osyka Has Died
The Verkhovna Rada announced the death of Serhiy Osyka, People's Deputy of Ukraine of the IV, V, and VI convocations. He was 71 years old.
Serhiy Osyka was one of the scholars who took part in preparing the draft Constitution of Ukraine before its consideration and adoption in parliament. From 1994 to 1996, he was a member of the Constitutional Commission representing the President of Ukraine.
Serhiy Osyka also served as Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine. During his work in the Verkhovna Rada, he was a member of the Committee on Legal Policy, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Finance and Banking, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on State Building, Regional Policy and Local Self-Government, as well as First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy.
For his state service, Serhiy Osyka was awarded the Order "For Merit" III degree and the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise V degree.
