Kyiv to introduce a transfer QR ticket with unlimited transfers, but there is a nuance
Starting August 1, a transfer QR ticket will become available in the Kyiv Digital app and ticket purchase terminals. With it, passengers will be able to make an unlimited number of transfers between different types of city transport within 90 minutes after the first validation. This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA).
The department emphasized that one ticket allows free transfers between different types of transport.
The transfer QR ticket can be used in the metro, buses, trolleybuses, trams, and on the funicular. Its cost is 60 hryvnias. After purchase, the ticket is stored in the app for 15 days, and the countdown starts only after the first validation. During the next 90 minutes, passengers can make an unlimited number of transfers by revalidating the same QR ticket on each vehicle or at the metro turnstile.
You can purchase the new ticket in the Kyiv Digital app in the "Buy QR Ticket" section by selecting the "City Transport" category and the "Transfer" type, or at terminals.
"During the fare inspection, it is enough to show the QR ticket to the controller. After scanning, the controller will see information about all validations made within the 90-minute period, so no additional payment confirmations are required," the KCSA stated.
They also added that the launch of the new ticket does not change the current rules for QR ticket pricing. Discounts on rides apply only to topping up transport cards and purchasing passes, while the price of QR tickets remains fixed.
