The Ministry of Social Policy initiated an inspection of "Artek" in Zakarpattia after children's complaints about living conditions
The Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine has initiated an inspection of the living conditions of children at the International Children’s Center "Artek" in Zakarpattia. The inspection is being conducted by the National Social Service of Ukraine.
The reason for this was reports in the public space and photographs regarding the conditions of children’s stay at the institution.
"The International Children’s Center "Artek" is a state institution participating in the children’s health improvement program. The Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine funds the program from the state budget. Accordingly, we are authorized and will control the quality of service provision," said the head of the department, Denys Ulyutin.
The Ministry of Social Policy emphasized that the results of the inspection will be reported after its completion, and the interests of the children remain a priority.
Recently, information appeared in the media about possible inadequate living conditions and food for children from Vyshneve who were sent for rehabilitation to the "Artek" camp in Zakarpattia.
Representatives of the National Social Service will check the living conditions of children, the state of rooms, bathrooms and recreation areas, the quality of food, and compliance with sanitary standards. They will also communicate with the institution’s administration, children, and their parents.
The National Service stated that if violations are found during the inspection, they will take legally prescribed measures to eliminate them and hold responsible persons accountable.
